How much VP does copying a Replica Team cost?
Loading a Replica code is free. Making your Pokémon match the copied team is not: the game spends Victory Points (VP) to retrain them.
What costs VP
- Recruiting a Pokémon you do not own from the in-game pool.
- Changing nature, ability or stat training to match the team.
- Buying held items you do not have, including Mega Stones.
- Teaching moves your Pokémon does not know yet.
What is free
- Pokémon transferred from Pokémon HOME with the right ability and nature.
- Items you already own, one copy of an item can be used by several teams, but not by two Pokémon in the same team.
- Loading a code into an empty team slot and looking at it before confirming.
How to save VP
- Check the team page here first: it lists the six Pokémon and the known held items, so you know what you are missing.
- Prefer teams that reuse Pokémon and items you already trained.
- Use the Builder page: it marks the teams you can build with zero or few extra purchases.
- Do not retrain the same species twice for two teams, keep one trained copy and move it.
VP comes back from ranked wins, daily missions and the battle pass, so a few wrong copies are not a disaster, but a new player can waste a week of VP on two badly chosen codes.
