Trick Room teams in Pokémon Champions: setters, sweepers and counters
Trick Room reverses turn order for five turns. Slow, bulky Pokémon move first, and the fastest Megas of the format suddenly move last.
Setters
- Farigiraf: Armor Tail blocks Fake Out and Sucker Punch, so Trick Room almost always goes up.
- Hatterene: Magic Bounce reflects Taunt and Spore.
- Indeedee-F: Psychic Terrain blocks priority and Follow Me protects the other setter.
- Mimikyu, Oranguru and Cresselia as secondary options.
Sweepers
- Torkoal: Eruption under sun and Trick Room is the hardest-hitting spread move available.
- Ursaluna: Flame Orb Facade and Headlong Rush.
- Mega Mawile, Mega Golurk and Tinkaton for physical damage.
- Armarouge and Mega Gardevoir with Expanding Force in Psychic Terrain (Psyspam).
How to beat it
- Taunt the setter on turn one, Whimsicott and Grimmsnarl do it with priority, but not through Armor Tail or Psychic Terrain.
- Imprison Trick Room with Chandelure or Farigiraf of your own.
- Protect and switch for the five turns, Trick Room teams struggle when the clock runs out.
- Bring your own slow Pokémon: Incineroar, Amoonguss and Kingambit function fine in reversed order.
